DAVID'S CARPENTRY
Custom Cabinets II.
This is a custom built cabinet winerack combination. I made them in the same style as the kitchen cabinets.
There is a recess at the top of the basement stairs where my customer wanted a cabinet that is tall enough for the vacuum cleaner, and a winerack on top.
The sides are 3/4" birch veneer
plywood and the back is the plaster wall. The inside will be painted the same as the stairway walls. The bottom face frame piece will be removed and the tile floor will flow into the cabinet. The face frame is attached to the plywood sides first.
The doors are attached to the face frame. They are stained to match the kitchen cabinets.
The wine rack in its early stages.
The granite top is then installed. The same granite as the kitchen counter tops and the buffet.
The wine rack is installed on top. The backboard is solid oak, tongue & groove with a "v" edge, just like the buffet I made by the back door which you can see by clicking here.
A view of the cabinet looking up the stairs.
A close-up of the wine rack. Room for 28 bottles of wine.
A close-up of the backboard. It has an undermount light that is controlled by a wall switch by the door.
Here are the kitchen cabinets.
The finished product with the undermount light turned on. The stairs are right off the kitchen.
